In "Nereïd" wird über die dem Tod immanente Unausweichlichkeit und Einsamkeit reflektiert.
Der Zwang zum Sterben wird durch einen Brief einer nicht näher bestimmten, bürokratischen Instanz repräsentiert. Die See dient als Raum des Rückzugs und droht gleichzeitig mit Verderben.
Diese Umstände reißen die Hauptperson von einer Badewanne aus hin zu dem Ort in dem alles Leben begann und ihres endet.

"Nereïd"  reflects on the immanent inevitability and isolation of death. The obligation of dying is represented by a letter written by a bureaucratic instance that isn't closer determinated. The sea serves as area of retreat, while at the same time being a threat of perdition.
These circumstances tear the protagonist of the film from her bath tub to the place where all life begins and hers might end.
